REVIEW- The Female Hustler 2 (2022)

Ok so I just got done watching The Female Hustler 2 and it was so good that it had me yelling at my tv!!!!

*Fun Fact this film and the production company are based in Columbus, Ohio and they portrayed the buckeye state WELL*

SPOILERS AHEAD!!

The Female Hustler 2 had me on the ropes from beginning to end! We begin with Princess once again facing shots from an unknown assailant. The Female Hustler 2 wasted no time letting us know that Cali wants Princess gone, and by any means necessary! Not to mention, Omar, the villain we love to hate, is still alive and plotting a way to get back to the top.

Although Princess has accumulated wealth she is still guarded with her love interest, Derrick, from the first film. Derrick's role in Princess's life was also staged, as he was working on so many different sides. Throughout the film and in the end we find out that Derrick is working undercover with the feds, in cahoots with Dom, and is also reporting back to Cali with the tabs he is keeping on Princess! WHEW!!! In the end Derrick ends up coming thru for Princess when it's all said and done.

The cinematography on this film was amazing! Being from Ohio myself, I couldn't believe how beautiful Columbus could look on the big screen! The music also kept my head bobbing, and looking up who the artists were. Another fun fact, the music came from some of the cast! As usual, Dom Campbell did an awesome job writing, directing and producing this film, and in this case, I enjoyed the sequel better than the first film. The way this film ended they planted a few seeds that could be future storylines. Only time will tell if another film is in the works for this exciting franchise.

Either way, I'll be on the lookout for whatever upcoming films Dom Campbell, and his production company Emperium Studios release!

This is one of the few instances where the sequel was better than the first one! I recommend it to anyone who hasn't watched it, as it was definitely a fun time! The Female Hustler 2 is currently streaming HERE on Tubi and is expected to expand to more platforms soon.

Review-NIGHT SWIM(2024)

Yesterday I got the chance to watch the new supernatural horror/thriller called Night Swim, but by the time the film revealed its main plot point, it had NOTHING to do with night or swimming. Night Swim was brought to us by the producers behind M3GAN and The Nun, which were also very underwhelming and overrated. Blumhouse is the company behind this, so my interest was peaked. I thought this film had great potential because it had two elements that scared the shit out of me….Water and The Dark. Can yall believe at my big grown age of 35 I can’t swim and am still afraid of the dark lol. In the cold opening of this film, we see a little girl who looks to be about eight or nine, she’s looking for a toy boat in the pool. She goes to reach for it, and I already knew she was going somehow to fall in, which she did. 2024 IS HERE! Recaps With Mae is BACK!

Did y'all miss me? Because I definitely missed y'all! 2023 I was all over the place and so busy chasing views on TikTok that doing film and tv reviews began to overwhelm me and feel like work. I tried a few gimmicks to get views but ultimately my content began to suffer, and I just didn't wanna do it anymore.  Starting in January my best friend, Neecey, and I started a podcast that was so fun, but came with many challenges.  We consistently got together every week for anywhere from an hour and a half to two hours to talk about our favorite horror movies. From January to September we covered the entire Scream and Child's Play franchise, the phenomenal Swarm series, Tales From the Hood, the original CandyMan from 1992 and its remake from 2021.  WHEW!  We stayed consistent even though life started life-ing, but ultimately we had to take a hiatus when we both got new jobs working overnights.
